This wiki is mostly like other wikis, in that people are generally able to view and make contributions to it; however, there are some policies specific to this wiki:

• All content must be CC BY-SA 4.0 or equivalent (see Copyright Policy).
• Do not discuss content in this wiki in English anywhere, unless the content is already in English (meta pages).
• Articles should be directly related to the world of Felang. Original creations (personal sonas, poems, stories, songs, drawings, etc.) are generally not permitted unless substantially related to Felang such that an article can be written about them.
  • Text in images, videos, and drawings should only be in Felang.
• Self-inserts and articles about real people are not allowed.
  • No references to real people (e.g. pictures, names, locations, etc.), including yourself are allowed.
• Every article should be written in Felang only, unless it is a meta page (inside the Meta book), which are only editable by administrators.
• You are encouraged to make corrective revisions to editable articles (e.g. to comply with the style guide) and do not need to seek permission to do so.
  • However, please discuss in the Discord before making major revisions that change the content (including renaming or merging a page). This does not include expanding on an article or adding related content.
• Please do not add new books or tags without first discussing them in the Discord.
• Do not use multiple accounts unless for a valid reason, like if an account is unrecoverable or hacked.
• Please abide by the style guide.

Everything on this wiki is available under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 (CC BY-SA 4.0) license. Essentially, anyone is allowed to use or adapt material on the wiki for any purpose (including commercial) as long as:

• Credit is given either as:
  • A link to the original page,
  • A link to a freely-accessible online copy to the original page, or
  • A list of all authors.
• All changes are disclosed.
• A link to or a copy of the above license is provided.
• It is released under the same or equivalent license.

This also means that any content posted must either be made available under the same license, or created by the poster who must agree to make it available under the aforementioned license.

To help maintain a cohesive reading experience for visitors, contributors should abide by the following guidelines to keep a consistent tone and format.

Formatting

• Always capitalise proper nouns (e.g "Ffirrang" when referring to the language and "ffirrang" otherwise).
• Avoid using loanwords for anything but proper nouns. Anything else should be calqued, compounded, or written out where convenient, or otherwise discussed in the Discord if a new term is necessary (like if it were to be too difficult or long to write out).
  • Loanwords should be transliterated into Felang. Do not leave loanwords in their original language.
• Only use italics for emphasis, not bold. Bold font weight is reserved for headings (including headings for tables and boxes) and site interaction elements (like collapsible elements).
• Headers should use title case. Capitalise the first word and every word that is not being used as a function word, unless it is 5 letters or longer.
• Body text should otherwise be written in lower case. Do not capitalise the start of sentences.
• Use italics instead of "quotes" when technical terms are first introduced and normal font weight subsequently.
• Refrain from using commas except:
  • To disambiguate the separation of clauses (e.g. "meow ang mi, i' nyi mar' mew" vs "meow ang mi i' nyi, mar' mew").
  • After an adverb at the start of a sentence (e.g. "mwaw, map prrp").
  • Within lists of two or more elements (e.g. "meow, mew, i' mi").
    • Lists of two or more elements should only have a conjunction before the last element.
    • A comma should be placed between each element, including the last two (Oxford comma).

Tone and Style

• Maintain a neutral, clinical tone.
• Use just enough disambiguation so the text is easily comprehensible, yet not overtly informal or unrefined.
• Avoid repeating phrases where possible, unless needed for clarity. Instead, make use of deictic references or context.
• Nonetheless, do not sacrifice ease of comprehension for brevity or style.
  • While it is easily possible to do so in Felang, refrain from writing text that is intentionally cryptic or hard to understand.
  • One exception is if the text is within a citation, like an excerpt of an in-universe writing, where the obscurity of the text is relevant to the article at large.
